What makes me feel like even more of a freak...even the people who have built walls, are emotionally unavailable, keep people at a distance, have shut down, checked out...even they still have sex.

Because they're bad people. When you shut down and still screw around, it's because you've lost the ability to recognize that what you do can cause emotional harm to others. Now me, I'm screwed up, but I try to keep it contained. I've said it before, and I'll say it again (in a future post): Emotional Baggage is a Sexually Transmitted Disease.

I can sympathize completely. It's frustrating sometimes when you consider the number of emotionally dysfunctional people that still manage to have no trouble finding people to sleep with/date them.
What I am finding is that my virginity gets more valuable to me as I get older. I waited this long, I don't want to give it up to just anybody.
