Conversations With Mom

QV: ...so I'll go through all those boxes the next time I visit, and then the next time you come up to visit you can bring what's left.
Mom: I'm not coming up to visit.
QV: Oh? Never again?
Mom: Not until you get married.
QV: I am so not having this conversation with you. Do you want me to stop speaking to you?

Wow...it sort of reminds me of what my mom said to me...which wasn't the same thing, but along the similar vein of "Do you seriously want me to stop talking to you?"

Basically she said (with great assurance): "Don't worry. You'll get married. I know it. I feel it in my bones."

Um...yeah.

well my mom just likes to plan my wedding and the times when i bring back my currently non-existent boyfriend back home to show the parentals.

i think she really believes without a shadow of doubt that i'd get married. i don't have the heart to tell her that i'm justifiably worried that i'll just get left on the shelf...

mothers. why is it so hard for them to understand it's nothing like what it was when they were first of marrying age?
